If you are a new customer to BlankClothing.ca, you might receive an email from us asking to verify your billing information.
So what’s that all about?
When we have the correct billing information for the credit card used for the purchase, that’s basically our way of verifying that the cardholder (you!) is the one actually making the purchase, and that the card hasn’t been compromised. Unfortunately there’s a high level of credit card fraud that happens in online shopping, so to combat that we have an extremely rigorous security checklist, the base of which is our address verification system that is provided through our payment processor.
I order online all the time and I’ve never received a message like this before!
There could be a couple of different reasons for this! Every online company has different methods of validating their customers; some require the postal code to match your credit card before you complete the checkout, and some perform these checks more manually.
But I’ve ordered from you once before – why did I get the same email?
Sounds like you entered in the wrong billing address again, or used the same formatting as last time! The first steps of our verification system are largely automated; until either your billing info matches, or your customer profile is added to a whitelist, you’ll receive the verification emails.
The easiest way to avoid this being a repeat issue is to confirm the way that your credit card company has it on file, and add that address to your account so it’s easy to remember for next time.
